Written by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that there will be cheaper transportation fares for citizens as State Governors work towards the October 1 objective which is to ensure affordable transportation fare through the National Affordable CNG Transit Programme.
The National Affordable CNG Transit Programme was established on August 27 during a crucial meeting with the state governors. President Tinubu also charged states to continue the drive towards October 1.
The president who was speaking in a statement on Saturday, urged state governors to facilitate all necessary infrastructure required to enable Nigerians benefit through low transport fares from CNG buses.
President Tinubu cited states like Adamawa, Kano, Plateau and the FCT where the intervention of CNG buses have reduced transportation cost by about 40% to 50%
