Written by The chairman of the Kujie Area Council in the FCT, Danjuma Shekwolo has retracted his earlier statement where he was seen in a video telling a group of party loyalists to either vote for the APC or leave the Area Council.
Shekwolo made the retraction after criticism followed his statement which went viral. He was captured as saying ” I have said in my Area Council, it is either you are doing APC or leave the Area Council. I am not arguing with you.”
Shekwolo in a press breifing said his remarks had been taken out of context, and did not reflect his intention or that of his administration.
He stated that he does not have the right to disenfranchise citizens of the Area Council, and that the reamark was made to APC youths and loyalists while discussing party issues.
He then solicited for the cooperation of the people of the Kuje Area Council in order to help achieve the dreams of his administration.
